This Weekend

Wow. What a week has been. Full of new projects, client onboarding, and late nights in the studio. It’s a labor of love; yet, I ‘m looking forward to a weekend where the season can be embraced. Ready for walks at my favorite spot, waking up without an alarm, and setting a to-do list aside for a day. There’s something about the weekend that brings the idea of a fresh restart. Moments where there’s a pause and a different rhythm available. As the weeks become more crazed and the tension of life increases, I’m learning that working from a place of rest is far more productive than from a place of chaos. This Friday is dedicated to getting things done with this focus rather than efficiency. For that I am thankful.

Here are a few things I’ve been loving on the Internet lately:

The spring collection from Hearth and Hand at Target is absolutely stunning. I’m particularly fond of the jade glass dessert bowls, perfect for an extra pop of color on your table.

As the Instagram algorithm has changed recently, it’s been interesting to see the impact on personal accounts and accounts I manage. Over a few short weeks, I’ve noticed that accounts I once saw as reputable have been cracked down on and following accounts have substantially decreased. While I’m not a fan of some of the implications for Instagram, this article from the New York Times speaks to the recent changes and the state of media.

This article from the Everygirl perfectly describes my current season. Last year I bought a car in cash. This year I’m saving for a down payment on a house. More than anything, I’m finding the beauty in simple living, investing wisely into my business, and finding joy in experiences over stuff.

Are you a fan of TED talks? Have you wondered what it would look like to truly develop a thought and execute it well? What does it look like to refine and continually cultivate a life message? This article from Darling Magazine will convince you it’s time to start writing. Grab a pen and paper and get to it!

What are you up to this weekend?

We’d love to hear from you! Let us know in the comments below.
