Practice Reckless Optimism

Happy Monday everyone!

It’s a new week and that means fresh starts. I’m excited for a new start and definitely need one. This week my mantra is, “Practice Reckless Optimism.” A while ago I found this phrase and it has stuck with me. Your week may be full, bursting at the seams, and feel like there is loads of ground to cover. Take it one day at a time, one task, one moment at a time. It doesn’t all have to be figured out in a single moment.

Be committed to the best self you can offer the world. Let your light, your creativity, and your spirit impact the world by doing your creative best and live according to that. When disappointments and tough situations arise, remind yourself, I can handle this. Recently I’ve been learning that in the end, it all will be okay. It will all work out. I’m capable, powerful, and have been given the grace I need for the present situation. Grace, I’m beyond thankful for that in this past month. These are thoughts I am keeping at the forefront of my mind. It’s not about looking at life as a glass half-full or half-empty. It’s not about self-help or cheesy little phrases to make me feel better. Instead, it’s choosing to find the gold in any challenge, foraging in the dirt until I see that glistening fragment. Hope is always there. It doesn’t disappoint. Therefore, I will practice reckless optimism.

  • The term “reckless optimism” absolutely caught my attention! However, after a bit of thought about the idea of recklessness, I wondered if I wanted to associate that adjective to my life. And YES! I do believe in being positive, and thankful and filled with optimism, but I would rather be strategic, compared to reckless. 😉 Yes, to grab hold of hope and grace is so valuable.

Thank you for a “thought exercise!” – and though this is an older post, I hope you’re encouraged because your posts are wonderful. Wishing you a positive and thankful week! (whether its’ reckless or strategic — LOL)
