Look for Less: Hot Summer Nights

Ahhh summertime. With outdoor music festivals, longer hours of sunlight and a bit more hours of leisure, it’s always a challenge to find those pieces that have the perfect combination of effortlessness, beauty, and casual elegance. I’ve been looking for pieces that can transition from a client meeting, to a leisurely day around the house, and dress up for a night out. I had been eying the jumpsuit trend for a while now. When trends first surface I always find myself a bit hesitant, but after seeing this trend have some staying power I decided to go for it.

I found that a lot of jumpsuits I tried on overpowered my frame and didn’t have the drape in the fabric I desired. I found this jumpsuit and was sold. With soft spun cotton, a drop waist, and good drape, I loved it. It is comfortable and kind of feels like I’m wearing pajamas. To help with the casual nature of the fabric and elevate the look a bit (for date nights and as a classic basic), I paired the jumpsuit with one of my favorite pair of cognac heel slides.  At a $9 price tag for the jumpsuit, I couldn’t resist. Did I mention it has pockets?

For jewelry, I went to one of my favorite Rocksbox sets thus far. (Rocksbox is a jewelry subscription service. With a low fee and monthly delivery a stylist sends you a set of jewelry to use as long as you like. Use code MELISSABFF448 for a free month of Rocksbox to try it out for yourself!) Anchored by a beautiful hammered gold cuff by Gorjana, the pave bar necklace and post earrings are a subtle sparkly nod to the stars in the summer sky and are the perfect minimalist pairing for this look.

My bag is from Madewell and was a splurge. It has become my everyday bag and I absolutely love it. Perfect for carrying all my daily essentials, it is made of a beautiful soft black leather and holds up to everyday wear and tear.

The lipstick was such a happy surprise. I love Nars lipsticks for their matte finish and rich saturation of color. I’ve been known to rock some burgundy or coral lips in my day. If you are a Sephora rewards holder, this lipstick comes in a 2-crayon set for your birthday for free. If you’re anything like me you forget to cash in the various birthday freebies from retailers. No worries, Spehora will allow you to cash in your birthday gift anytime. My forgetfulness thanks you Sephora.
