Let It Be the Weekend with Grana

When it comes to the weekend, I always get a bit more excited. It’s the days that have breathing room, the moments to embrace the fresh early summer days, and to the ability to enjoy all that comes with a more relaxed pace. Whether enjoying a good book, a cup of coffee with friends, or going for a hike, we discover the beauty of pressing pause. For me this weekend will be full as I finish out school next week. It’s been a marathon and is one worth celebrating as the end is in sight.

This week has been a full one. One with ebbs and flows. I’ve embraced the hot (and I do mean hot) temperatures that Redding summer brings. I’ve found the sunshine and the freckles have completely popped on my shoulder unlike ever before. There’s been inevitable transition that comes with the month of May and I’m sure I’ll continue to process that as time moves on, but until then we’re embracing the lasts that come with the season.

Here are a few things we’ve been loving on the Internet lately:

– Abstract Documentary on Netflix. We shared a quote from this docuseries on Monday and are rewatching it. It keeps us inspired and ideas fresh.

– We’ve been looking at properties for a while and am saving to purchase my own little fixer upper. Scandinavian modern design is our absolute favorite and we can’t stop pinning items to this board.

– With May brings Derby and this weekend, more than ever, I’m missing the energy of my hometown. To celebrate we’re thinking about making this stunning gluten-free Derby pie.

-We absolutely love nachos. They are our favorite. With some fresh blue corn chips and homemade salsa, we couldn’t love this snack any more. Lately we’ve been trying out variations. The sweet potato nachos from the Whole Food Diary are a game changer, as are the apple nachos from a local shop. (We’ll be making some of these this weekend.

– For those of you who won’t be at Derby parties this weekend, happy Cinco de Mayo to you. Here’s a few of our favorite mexican recipes to celebrate. We love the blood orange margarita, peach margarita, and shrimp ceviche dip.

-There’s something about Darling magazine. We think they’re brilliant. From their writing to the way they express their core values, we love their blog posts and this one articulated a subject I’ve processed through over the years. Rejection. We all face it, but how do you deal with it? Go read this article. It just might change your life.

-The perfect pair of silk PJs. There’s something about a great pair of pajamas and we love the way these fit from Grana. They have ease, while being simple, ethically sourced, and elegant. We hope you find a favorite pair here as well.

-Want an extra something special for springtime that’s ethically sourced fashion? Grana is offering 15% off this weekend. We recommend the linen tee and turkish denim. They’re classic pieces you’ll wear again and again. That and they’re stunningly beautiful. Get shopping here.

Just in case you missed it: Monday Words, Honey Lavender Latte, Honey Lavender Bourbon Ale, and Mother’s Day Gift Guide with Amara

Have an amazing weekend everyone!
