Finding beauty in the mundane

beautyinthemundane

This week has been one of great challenge. I have found myself living in the comparison game, rushed, busied, and lacking grace for others and for myself. Maybe you’ve found yourself in the same place. I don’t know if it’s the melancholy mood that can come with winter, the lack of time to experience the things that make me come alive, or the feeling that life has become incredibly ordinary again. The excitement of pursuing goals and making schedules has waned and life feels a bit like Groundhog Day.

What do you do when life just seems ordinary? How do you move yourself past the current and take the time to see the beauty in the simplest of moments? What happens when life is true, hard, and feels “blah”? What do you do when the life you live couldn’t be further from the perfect Instagram feeds we so commonly post or the curated hopes and dreams we see others achieving?

This weekend, I encourage you, whatever season you’re in, choose to find an adventure, to have honest conversations, to fight for joy, and to celebrate the smallest moments of victory. May we all be on a quest in finding beauty in the mundane.
