Fall Essentials For Her

With the past few weeks has come an onslaught of much needed rain. More than anything, now the weather is absolutely perfect. In the low 60s and pockets of rain, I’ve been able to break out fall layers and usher in the new season. I’ve added a few items to my wardrobe this year and while basic in nature, they feature smart and editorial details to anchor any capsule wardrobe for this season.

Keep reading for 5 fall essentials for her!

01. Sweater Coat

I purchased one of these in Heather Gray last year. The drape and soft nature makes it cozy, but still elevated with the trim and smart editorial choices. Paired with black skinnies, a black tee, chelsea boots, and my cluse watch, it make the perfect look for client meetings or evenings out with friends. (I find that an all-black look keeps things cohesive and says “designer” in the best ways.) Looking for a more affordable option? Here’s a similar option from Amazon.

02. Casual blazer

I’ve been searching high and low for a blazer that would work for a variety of occasions. This blazer from Madewell was the best option I could find. Once it arrived in the mail, I was super happy. I’ve been pairing it with button downs for presentations and meetups this week. With slender lapels and soft notches, it remains approachable. (Purchased on sale, this blazer is high-quality and was a bargain at $80.)

03. Levi’s Jacket

This year, I’ve seen a resurgence of 90’s fashion and denim has come back in full force. For a more casual look, I pair white sneakers or black Nike’s with a classic denim jacket, black skinnies, and a graphic tee. It’s an easy look and spans weekend days from brunch to the trail to the market.

04. Gray beanie

Mornings mean fresh mountain air and low-lying clouds draped over vistas on my commute. Bundle up with this heathered beanie. (Perfect for days when you just don’t feel like doing your hair and need to head out the door quickly.)

05. Blanket scarf

I used to think blanket scarves were crazy, cumbersome, and overly thick. Then I bought one. For fall evenings, bonfires by the lake, and outdoor dinner parties, blanket scarves are the best. As I write this piece, I’m wearing one with heathered flecks of white, navy, and burgundy. I absolutely love it and it keeps me warm all day long.
