Chasing Adventure

Adventures. It’s something we were made for. Every time I find myself leaving the city limits and hitting the open road, my heart finds excitement and joy unlike any other. As much as I love my job, running the studio, and the blog, I love working hard and playing harder. In 2016, I found myself grounded in town far more than I would have liked. Different business opportunities surfaced and kept my attention. For 2017, I quickly realized one of my goals was to take an adventure a month. Some could be local, while others would be far off, but more than anything it would mean finding rhythm, excitement, and joy in the days off. Getting lost and exploring in new cities, finding iPhone challenges, and investing in vacation are some of my favorite things. There are a few places on my list and couldn’t be more excited for them.

Keep reading for my adventure list after the jump!

Big Sur. Part camping, part glamping, I can’t wait to check out Auto Camp near Big Sur. I can’t wait to head here in the spring months, enjoying everything the coast has to offer. Big Sur has been on my list since arriving to California and with a 5 hour drive, it’s time to make it happen.

Australia. I’m headed to the North Coast of Australia in March. This will be a trip for school with a bit of downtime. Australia has been on my bucket list and I can’t wait to cross this one off prior to turning 30. If you want to help me get there, you can donate here.

Portland. Portland is an endearing city, with its quirks and character. With the resurgence of the makers movement, I’m excited to get lost in the city, exploring, and finding new brands around every corner.

Santa Monica. Every year, I try to take a summer trip down to L.A. With a more laid back vibe, coastline, and loads of sunshine, Santa Monica is a favorite spot in L.A. This will be a part work, part fun trip, with great exterior and locations for summer fashion shoots.

Chicago. This year is a year of attending weddings. I always like to incorporate a bit of exploring cities that weddings are in, rather than solely flying in and out. Chicago is a favorite midwest city and is perfect for visiting in the summer. With open air festivals, walks along the lake, and stunning architecture, I used to frequent this city every year. I can’t wait to celebrate the wedding of dear friends this fall.

Days at the Lake. Last year due to a injury my summer days on the water were limited. This summer I’m hoping to change that. With four lakes nearby, there are plenty of places for my open kayak to call home.

Europe. It’s been a long standing dream to go travel through Europe. While I don’t know how long the trip will be, it’s a goal I’m working towards. I can’t wait to build out these city guides and share all the amazing places the cities of Europe have to offer.
