Casual Friday

Happy Friday everyone!

To start off the weekend, I thought I would share a few random photos from the past month or so. It has been a full month with family and travel, so these behind the scenes photos will hopefully let you into our process and world. I think the biggest lesson from this month is that progress is always better than perfection. In life, in home, and in business. It is easy to refute the small beginnings and simple moments in our life, letting beauty and grace quickly pass us by.

Over the past week, we’ve had rain and loads of it. The good news? Everything is in full bloom and looking lush and green. We’re getting started on our backyard overhaul and have all our furniture assembled and sealed. It’s one of our weekend projects and we can’t wait to share the before and after with you!

Our flowers for the week. This week we opted to go a bit fancy with out of town guests and ordered this beautiful arrangement from our friend Katie, at Floranthropist. With a palette of white, yellow, and purple it was perfect. Next week I think we’ll go for more of a foraged vibe, but these were awesome to have on the table.

Last week was read week for class and this week we turn in our final assignments. We will have completed 119 assignments this school year and I’m so happy that we’re approaching the finish line. This is a pic from my study spot. The couch. Random note: I love our couch and our Pendleton pillows. They’re perfect and a bold statement.

More snaps from around the house. I was excited to get a good picture of our storage bench. Hopefully this summer we’ll be adding a larger TV and a wall hanging to fill out the space. Until then, this bench does an awesome job holding books, blankets, and records.

Our piano space got a bit more magical this week with an installation of airplants and our print from Chris Cruz. Floranthropist came through again with the airplants. Make sure to check out their airplant bar if you live locally. The touch of green was just what the space needed and we refreshed our airplant ornaments from Christmas tree that had been needing some serious help.

Remember when I told you about the simple and small moments to capture? This is the view from our drive back from LA. The mountains and the fog seem unreal and a happy surprise to find on the side of the road.

When in LA, we spent our last day at Disneyland. I was able to share it with these amazing women who have become dear friends over the past year. We went the quintessential Disney route playing on the Dumbo ride, the teacups, and making sure we had a front row to the parade. It was a magical day and one that will remain a highlight of the school year.

What are you up to this weekend?
